  Baher Samy Arm sling 2 weeks then start pendulum exercises progressing to active ROM exercises at 4-5 weeks, with weekly check xrays, the patient should regain his prefracture status in 8 weeks!

  The cuff tear does not depend on the displacement of tge greater tuberosity... its soft tissue injury at the junction which is impossible to assess on plain x.ray.

  Clinical union according to your line of treatment will take 3 months. 
  Some amount of stiffness will give the deltoid leverage and false cuff strength.
  If you access now and if you have cuff tear fix the cuff tear not the greater tuberosity patient will be back to activity in 3 months.
  By waiting for union we are prolonging the recovery to 6 months if there is cuff tear.
  Which indirectly will lead to loss of function. 
  The best way is to assess before deciding the treatment
